Purwokerto, which is one of the cities that is developing rapidly in Central Java, requires providing efficient transportation infrastructure to support the ever-increasing population mobility. The development of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is expected to reduce congestion. However, BRT services in Purwokerto are still concentrated in the city center, leaving outlying areas underserved and only around 36% of the population has adequate access. As a result, there is no spatial justice for all communities regarding BRT access and BRT still has no effect in reducing congestion. This research emphasizes the importance of more even placement of stops throughout the city to increase BRT reach and efficiency. With the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), areas requiring increased accessibility can be identified. This will improve access to BRT, reduce congestion, and support sustainable transportation in Purwokerto. With the development of Smart City, sustainable and affordable public transportation for all areas must be developed in Purwokerto City, including the suburbs, to support more efficient and equitable mobility for all residents.
