Hubungan Indeks Pembangunan Pemuda dengan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Regional di Indonesia
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the relationship between the Youth Development Index (IPP) and regional economic growth in Indonesia in the context of utilizing the demographic bonus. Indonesia, as a country with a youth population reaching 64 million people or 24% of the total population, is in the demographic bonus phase until 2030-2035. The study uses a quantitative design with an analytical approach using panel data from 34 provinces for the period 2015-2023 sourced from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The analytical methods used include descriptive statistics to describe the IPP trend and Pearson correlation tests to identify relationships between IPP dimensions. The results show that the national IPP increased from 48.67 in 2015 to 56.33 in 2023, reflecting a cumulative growth of around 15-16%. The health and welfare dimension recorded the highest achievement with an average of 67.22, while participation and leadership recorded the lowest achievement with an average of 39.89. Pearson's correlation test shows that education is positively correlated with health (r=0.603) and leadership participation (r=0.632), but negatively correlated with employment (r=-0.633), indicating a mismatch between youth education and job opportunities. The conclusion is that youth development experiences interdimensional imbalances and requires more comprehensive policies to optimize the demographic dividend.
