Edutourism Literacy Escalation of Local Wisdom of Batik Carica Lestari through Community Based Tourism
Abstract
The educational tourism literacy of the people of Talunombo Village is still low even though the village has the potential for local wisdom tourism through Carica Lestari batik. In fact, the potential of edutourism can be developed through a culture of local wisdom value as an effort to increase the acceleration of village development. Based on a survey with the head of batik artisans, namely Alfiah, it was found that three priority problems of target partners were found, namely the fields of management, production, and marketing. Carica Lestari Batik artisans do not have adequate competence and support in managing education, including the lack of tour packages, product catalogs, and digital promotional media. Production equipment is also still simple and not environmentally friendly. Therefore, the scaling of educational literacy is carried out through community-based tourism based on social inclusion. The purpose and benefits of this program are to assist Carica Lestari batik artisans in the field of management, production, and marketing to achieve the government's goals in Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning government policies to encourage the acceleration of human resource development and infrastructure facilities in villages. The method used in the implementation of this program is the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method. This implementation method emphasizes the involvement of the target community in the implementation of all activity programs. The result of the implementation of this activity is a positive response in the form of the success of the community in self-empowerment and revitalization of batik through the reconstruction of batik motifs to preserve and develop traditional motifs to remain relevant to the times, cultural performances through batik fashion shows to introduce Carica Lestari batik more widely.
