Abstract

Current  crisis  is one of the outburst of the  health  unstability   for individual   or group among others the cancer or neoplasma.   The aim  of this review  is to find out the cancer's  outbreak  and

• the description  of epidemiology   in Indonesia.  The cause of cancer according  to the analysis  is

genetic  factors and environment    such  as chemistry,   habit  of eating,  stress,  the characteristic of work and social  habit  in correlation  with  the cause of cancer (smoking  and air breathing). More severe if there is  a pschological   impact either   patient  or family.   According to SDKl 1994 statement, cancer which mostly  cause dead were :   another  neoplasma  (1,4  %). tongue cancer  & cancer nesoparing  (0,5  %),  respiratory tract cancer  (0,4 %),  rectum & anus cancer (0,3  %), leukemia  (0,2  %), stomach & belly  cancer,  each  1   %.  The age group  mostly suffered from cancer were 35-44  years (I 0,3  %), 45-64 years  (9,6-9,8  %), 25-34 years (4, l-4,5  %), 5-14 years (3 %} and 1-4  years 91  %}. Al the year 1991  - 1995,  65,7  % of women suffered from cancer,  and men  34,2 % according to the  13  pathology centre reports in  Indonesia.  Urban territory  showed  bigger percentage  of cancer compared with rural territory.  In Indonesia,    the percentage   of cancer   in the  year 1990  •  1995  was no change (3,8  %). The highest  suffering cancer province were D.I. Yogyakarta since  1991  until  1995  (approximately   about 4,6 - 7,6  % ( I 0).  In this context, it is very important to know what is the cause,  how to take the early step and to make further research, especially   in the high level area.
